SCCI commends the organisers of the new Praslin Culinary and Art fiesta for Their Initiative

After having visited the Praslin business community and heard their many concerns, the Chairman of the Seychelles Chamber of Commerce said he was pleased to hear this week of the launching of the Praslin Culinary and Arts Fiesta to be organised by the Ministry of Tourism and Culture. The fiesta which is due to take place from the 5th to the 7th of September 2014 has been well received by the chamber and its members especially those operating on Praslin.
“This event comes at a fitting time, when the Praslin business community are appealing to the Government to listen to their many concerns they have expressed which are affecting their business operations, of which one of it were the fact that they are not benefitting from the tourism as much as the business from Mahe given their many challenges.” Says Mr. Marco Francis, Chairman of the Seychelles Chamber of commerce and industry.
Mr. Francis explained that the SCCI members from Praslin, especially those in the hospitality business are commending the ministry of Tourism and Culture for such initiative and expressed their support in making the first one a success.
It is the first time that Seychelles will be using its coco-de-mer nut in an innovative way to entice visitors on the island. This event will put the island of Praslin in the forefront. For this reason the private sector from Praslin has pledged their support towards the event as they believed it will help to bring the much needed visibility for the island and hopefully help raise the profile of Praslin to what it used to be once upon a time.
