Rising Stars: Meet Ghana’s team to challenge the world athletics glory

Ghana's representatives of Susie Acolatse (100m,200m),Emmanuel Dasor (200m) and Ibrahim Yakubu (110m hurdles) represent a significant decrease from the 12 competitors Ghana sent to the last championships in Barcelona.

Just entering her 16th year,U.S born Acolatse will finally make her international debut for Ghana after disagreements over who would be her chaperone kept her away from an international meet last year.

A powerful sprinter, the Mission Hills High school student has ran a personal best of 11.59sec in the 100m and 23.97sec in the 200m this season and should be a strong contender to make at least a semi final.

Dasor won athletics reality show "Ghana's Fastest Human" last year and is now a student at Western Kentucky University in the U.S.A.

The former T.I Amadiyya alum's best event is the 200m in which he has run a personal best of 21.07 this season,a time that needs improvement if he expects to beat a talented bunch of challengers headed by Japanese teenage sensation Yoshide Kiryu.
