There she is, walking on air she is, there she is… Miss Tourism Uganda. Who will be crowned this year?
After a hugely successful Miss Tourism Uganda 2013, which saw Uganda’s tourism beauty queen return from the global contest in Malaysia with the title Miss Friendship, this year’s contest is about to get underway.
Information received suggests that there will be preliminaries organized across the country to select a Miss Tourism from each part of Uganda, namely the regions of Kigezi, Ankole, Rwenzori, Buganda, Busoga, Eastern, Northern, and West Nile. Three young ladies from each region will then compete at the national finals at the Kampala Serena Hotel on October 17 of this year.
A boot camp of three weeks will precede the finals during which the contestants will be prepared for the big night during which this year’s Miss Tourism and the two runner’s up will be determined.
The winner of the 2014 Miss Tourism pageant will for the following 12 months become a key tourism ambassador for Uganda and help promote the country in the region and further abroad.
