Car Dekho, a website that furnishes all the information related to cars also known as the world of cars highlighted Audi’s plan to expand Indian auto industry through the launch of premium sedan A3. While the wait was on, a German luxury manufacturer took the crown by introducing the vehicle in the South African market commencing the deliveries from January 2014.
The car was priced at R323, 500 (approx. Rs. 19 lakh). Audi India with its most reasonable A3 aspires to acquire the market as BMW and Mercedes-Benz introduced 1-Series and A-Class respectively during the same time. The vehicle was exposed at the Indian Auto expo in 2014 is anticipated to be company’s top selling product in developing nations embracing India.
In South Africa, the fresh A3 was introduced in both petrol and diesel version. The petrol model comprises of 1.4-litre TFSI tuned to deliver two power output i.e. 123bhp (MT) and 120bhp (AT) and a 1.8- litre engine producing 177bhp and 250Nm.
Also, the diesel model is supported by a turbo diesel engine giving a maximum power output of 148bhp and 350Nm. Including features like Audi’s drive select system, two zone climate control, MMI and a multi-functional steering, the car’s price is likely to be nearly Rs. 22-25 lakhs.
