The Soninkara Super Cup Champions

Gambia has got new champions in town, recently Demba Kunda defeated Julangaine by a goal to zilch in the Super Cup finals of the Soninkara Youths Football Tournament. Tamba Sabally marked the charisma by scoring the only goal of the game played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium for Demba Kunda in 26th minute of the game and secured the team as champions. Ensuing the victory, Demba Kunda proudly took home a trophy and a cash prize of D3, 000 while runners-up Julangaine got to be happy with a consolation prize of D2,000.

The finale of the tournament ended on a happy note for sports personalities; Assan Kujabi, Modou Sowe and George Gomez, after being awarded with certificates for their involvement in sports by the Soninkara Youth Development Organization (SYDO). Also, a local foreign bureau, Sisawo Money Transfer also donated D5, 000 to SYDO in the finale.

After the finale the victorious head coach of Demba Kunda, Hagi Kusa Touray, stated that on account of taking charge as head coach he has never allowed his team to beat his side twice, accumulating that he was beaten by his opponents erstwhile to the final, which is why they prepared for revenge in the Super Cup. Meanwhile, Muhammed Trerra, head coach of Julangaine, asserted that his side was wretched during the final because they played sound.
