MTN now on the World Champions list

MTN started its journey with commencement of single licence in South Africa in 1994, and expanded its network drastically and is still climbing the stairs of success. Recently, MTN Group has been delineated as the only South African company on the World Champions list. The list accumulated by analysts from American multinational financial services company, Citi Group, comprises of world companies operating at a large scale and leading their respective industries. In the same strain, MTN Group President and CEO, Sifiso Dabengwa asserted, “Being named on the World Champions list is exciting and humbling, especially as MTN commemorates its 20th anniversary this year. This global recognition signifies that we continue to play a vital role in our industry.”

Furthermore, MTN is listed together with iconic global companies including Apple, Google, Facebook and Microsoft. According to analysts, MTN has been chosen as one of the World Champions taking in consideration the operations of company in 21 countries and is number 1 player in 15 of its markets and number 2 in the rest. According to Dabengwa, MTN is a pioneering company, and continues to be innovative to enhance shareholder value and transform the lives of its customers through technology and attributes that is the key reason for the company’s success thus far.
